Question: Why is it that on some fragrance products there is no barcode or item number? A client is claiming that because of this they cannot confirm the products' authenticity, and they are accusing the Representative of selling counterfeits.

The Expert's answer: All Faberlic perfume products are assigned barcodes and item numbers. But Russian regulatory documents do not require us to indicate this information on the packaging.

The presence or absence of barcodes or 4-digit item numbers cannot prove a products' authenticity. Faberlic products are not sold in stores, so there is no need for a barcode on the packaging. When products cross the border, barcode information is transmitted to the customs office in document form.

Beginning in the summer of 2011, we started to specify barcodes and item numbers on packaging while production. However, this is related to optimization of warehouse operations.
