Since kid's clothing is typically quite stained and heavily soiled, it's best to wash it with powder detergents, which are slightly more effective than liquid detergents under similar conditions. This is because their formulas and action are designed to remove the most difficult types of stains across a wide temperature range from 30 to 90 degrees Celsius.
Liquid detergents are recommended for low-temperature washing (optimally 30-40 degrees Celsius) and for more delicate, and high-maintenance clothes that don't have serious, stubborn stains, aren't worn, and require gentle washing.
Liquid gels are best used for washing everyday clothes that need a refresh – dresses, blouses and shirts, skirts, trousers, clothes with prints and appliqués, sweaters, stockings and tights, and lace underwear. And, of course, liquid gels are recommended for washing items such as down jackets, overalls, and jackets made of modern fabrics with coatings, breathable fabrics, microfiber, fleece, sportswear, and specialty fabrics such as satin, silk, cambric, cashmere, wool, jersey, and polyester.
Items that tend to be more heavily soiled—jeans, men's shirts and trousers, tank tops and t-shirts, and socks—are best washed with powder at a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, with the additional use of dry or liquid stain removers if necessary to further enhance the effectiveness of removing dried-on, old, or extensive stains.
